About Me

A woman with short dark hair, wearing glasses, a black top, and a black and beige patterned scarf, standing next to a table with electronic devices and a name badge that reads Bren Zavalta-Antunez.

Curious by nature, creative by choice, caring by default. Just don’t ask me to smile for a photo

For over 11 years, I built my career in project management, leading teams, solving problems, and keeping things moving in fast-paced environments. It was challenging and fulfilling, and it taught me how to stay grounded, think clearly, and communicate well.

But I’ve always loved design.

What started as a quiet pull became something I couldn’t ignore, the joy of creating things that are clear, thoughtful, and easy to use. I’m especially drawn to work that makes technology feel more human, more inclusive, and more intuitive for everyone.

Design became the language I didn’t know I needed, and now I use it to help others feel seen, supported, and included.

Global Perspective

Traveling has given me firsthand insight into different cultures, languages, and ways of seeing the world. That openness continues to inform my design work, helping me design digital experiences that are more thoughtful, inclusive, and welcoming.

Mindful Design Begins Within

I’ve been a meditator for over 10 years, which helps me stay centered and intentional in my creative process. I also volunteer at a meditation center and attend retreats regularly to deepen my practice.

Writing as a Creative Practice

Poetry has always been a core part of my creative expression — with work published in Bent on Writing: Contemporary Queer Tales and Lengua Latina.

Now, as a member of The X Page: A Storytelling Workshop, I continue to grow as a storyteller, with hopes of one day writing a novel.
